MONACO, Monaco – University of Colorado assistant track & field coach Casey Malone placed fifth in the discus throw at the Herculis meet, part of the IAAF Diamond League, on Thursday night.

Malone recorded his best toss of 213 feet, 8 inches, in his sixth throw of the competition. He finished just behind Lithuania’s Virgilijus Alekna who recorded a season best mark of 214-01. Estonia’s Gerd Kanter won the meet with a throw of 222-05.
