2010 FINAL BOYS INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL RANKINGS

Top-15 XC Nation All-Americans

1. LUKAS VERZBICAS SANDBURG HS, ORLAND HILLS, IL SENIOR
Verzbicas claimed a second-straight Foot Locker National Championship in dominating fashion a week after claiming the Nike Cross Nationals Championship. The National Championship Double has never  been accomplished. The Illinois State Champion finishes his prep career as one of the great prep cross country runners of all-time. Undefeated as a prep cross country athlete.
2. EDWARD CHESEREK ST. BENEDICTS HS, NEWARK, NJ SOPHOMORE
Cheserek is a super-sophomore who narrowly missed topping Verzbicas at Nike Cross Nationals. Cheserek finishing second topped an all-star field including defending NXN Champion Craig Lutz. Traded spots with Jim Rosa several times during the season but when it mattered most rose to the top. We have not yet seen the true potential of Cheserek.
3. FUTSUM ZEINASELLASSIE NORTH CENTRAL HS, INDIANAPOLIS, IN JUNIOR
After showing up as a freshman with a top 10 Foot Locker finish Futsum is back! After storming through the season undefeated Futsum finished second behind Verzbicas at the Midwest Region and Foot Locker National Championships. Futsum has made sub-15 minute 5000 meters a common place event. Once again showed why he is the 2011 Foot Locker favorite.
4. CRAIG LUTZ MARCUS HS, HIGHLAND VILLAGE, TX SENIOR
The defending NXN National Champion returned to the championship undefeated on the season. He did not disappoint losing only to Verzbicas and Cheserek in a battle that came to the wire. The multiple state champion has ruled the South/Southeast with an iron fist and will be regarded as an all-time great from the Southern Regions.
5. AMMAR MOUSSA ARCADIA HS, ARCADIA, CA SENIOR
The leader of one of the all-time great prep squads led the Apaches to the Nike Cross Nationals team national championship. Defended his individual state championship at the CIF State Championships, Moussa would go onto finish 4th at the NXN Championships. A week later travelled to the USAT&F Junior Olympics where he repeated as individual national cross country champion.
6. TONY SMORAGIEWICZ RAPID CITY HS, RAPID CITY, SD JUNIOR
The South Dakota State Champion was victorious at the NXN Heartland Region Championship but finished third behind Verzbicas and Futsum at the Foot Locker Midwest Region Championships. At Foot Locker Nationals finished 3rd again to Futsum and Verzbicas. A top returner for 2011 made leaps and bounds as a competitive runner this season.
7. KENJI BIERIG LEWIS AND CLARK HS, SPOKANE, WA SENIOR
Bierig was undefeated on the season, Washington 4A State Champion over Foot Locker standout Andrew Gardner, Nike Northwest Region Champion, and led his team to NXN Nationals. 8. ANDREW GARDNER MEAD HS, SPOKANE, WA SOPHOMORE
The super-sophomore ran undefeated in the Northwest except for losses to Lewis and Clark senior Kenji Bierig. After qualifying for nationals, showed the confidence of a pro with a mature race strategy, after holding back the first mile in near last place began a two-mile surge where the finish line brought 4th place over many top ranked competitors at the Foot Locker National Championships.
9. CHRIS WALDEN CARMEL HS, CARMEL, IN SENIOR
The star of the Carmel Greyhounds finished 4th at the Indiana State Championships in a race which featured less than a tenth of a second between second and fourth places only behind US#3 Futsum. The scrappy New Jersey senior has experienced many ups and downs this season. Despite the only off meet of his career at NXN, was absolutely unstoppable with vitories at Manhattan Invitational Champion with key victories over US#2 Cheserek. Suffered a letdown at the Nike Cross National Championships finishing 78th. The national meet was an utter anomally and not reflective of his ability nor national ranking,
12. SPENCER WENCK PALMER RIDGE HS, MONUMENT, CO SENIOR
