Grizzly women tabbed as unanimous No. 1 for fifth straight yearPublished by
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— For the fifth straight year, the Adams State College women’s cross country team was a unanimous choice to win the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title come November. The Grizzlies also had a pair of selections to the Preseason All-RMAC team, including RMAC Preseason Runner of the Year Alicia Nelson (Craig, Colo.), announced Thursday by conference officials in conjunction with the league’s preseason coaches’ poll.
The Grizzly men were also a unanimous choice to win the RMAC title and placed three members on the Preseason All-RMAC team.
The Grizzly women, who were also tabbed for first in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Central Region and National Rankings that were announced earlier this week, received all 12 possible first place votes and scored just 12 points in the polling of the conference’s head coaches, who each ranked their opposition 1-12 without voting for their own squad.
